We off road into the North Rim of the Grand Canyon from the Kaibab Wilderness.
This the first part.

The Grand Canyon is one of the most iconic and breathtaking natural wonders in the world. Carved by the Colorado River over millions of years, it is a massive canyon located in northern Arizona, USA. The canyon stretches for over 277 miles (446 kilometers), reaches depths of over a mile (1.6 kilometers), and spans widths up to 18 miles (29 kilometers). Its intricate layers of colorful rock formations, shaped by geological processes spanning millions of years, make it a geological and visual marvel.

The Grand Canyon is divided into two main sections: the South Rim and the North Rim, with the South Rim being the more visited and developed side. The canyon’s immense size and geological diversity provide habitat for a wide range of plant and animal species, making it a biodiversity hotspot. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts millions of visitors from around the world each year for hiking, sightseeing, river rafting, and more.

The Grand Canyon North Rim sits at a higher elevation, making it cooler and greener than the South Rim. It’s characterized by its ponderosa pine forests and expansive views of the canyon.

The Kaibab Wilderness is an area within the Kaibab National Forest in northern Arizona, adjacent to the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon. It encompasses rugged terrain, deep canyons, forested plateaus, and stunning vistas. The wilderness is named after the Kaibab Plateau, which forms its central feature.

This wilderness area is prized for its natural beauty, solitude, and pristine landscapes, offering visitors a chance to experience the raw majesty of the Grand Canyon region away from the crowds. It’s managed by the U.S. Forest Service and provides a protected haven for wildlife and ecosystems within the larger context of the Kaibab National Forest.
